We use 4th Dimension products, from 4D, Inc. They support a multiple user interface that allows data can be shared over a standard Ethernet network (wired and/or wireless), over the Internet, or a combination of both. They support a single user interface that allows a database to be used by a single user on a single computer without the need for a network. They support an "Open Access" system that allows 4D based applications to communicate with other applications.
4D products can do more than just provide access via the internet. They can send and receive email. They can be used to host web content. They can be used to support e-commerce.
